we tried to stay in new york state, but we ended up in connecticut.
we drove through the richest suburb in the united states (melissa says that's where the jfk jr. wife's family is from) in an old volvo and with a boombox.
we were supposed to hike a little. sit down by a lake to read books or listen to music or write letters on a writing tablet, but the lake/beach was closed for summer 2000. as melissa asks, "why would a lake/beach be closed for the summer?" i don't know.
but it was fun just to get out of the boroughs for a bit and have megan drive us up and away. plus, we got to make faces at rich people while megan did the friendly wave. you know what i'm talking about.
on the subway ride home from megan's burro, melissa and i did the unthinkable. we got off at 23rd & Ely. the first stop in queens (from manhattan) on the E/F train. no one ever gets on and no one ever gets off at that stop. but we heard it was a cool place to live. so we walked around and decided we should buy a house there and sit back--and watch the hipsters move in. but we really won't. it was just another good idea we always have.
so, i'm not doing my laundry. i hate doing laundry and it can just wait another day or two.
i might go camping with megan next weekend. hopefully he will give me a few pointers. his bear-attack advice is priceless. so, i'm probably gonna go unless this kickass baltimore girl is supposed to come visit that weekend like she said she might back in the day, but alluded that she might not in the recent day. but it'll be her birthday, i can cry if i want to.
speaking of that birthday, i am staring at my printed out july calendar in front of my computer and i don't have anything written on it but birthdays. this has not happened in one year. and it won't happen again until next july. hmm.
fill my calendar month.
