for some reason i don't own the cranberries cd i once had in college. but my roommate does and listening to it makes me feel all young and stupid. but in a good way, you know?
weekend was busy-busy, but fun-fun:
-lunch at dojo's-4 West 4th Street in Greenwich Village. (this is the review i just read) "Average main course $7.00. A vegetarian's dream. This restaurant is always busy and with good reason. The food is creative and great. The service is wonderful and the prices are very inexpensive." the review lies. the service is absolutely terrible. the rest is true.
-movie at the angelika-watched ghost dog, way of the samuri-(this review works). "one of the better movies made this year. both profound and silly. humor goes way beyond the psyche. very intelligent movie." i'll agree for the most part. always liked forrest whitaker, but i still want to know the significance of the gangster's daughter.
-art show at alleged galleries-809 washington street in the "meat-packing" district. the work was by chris johanson. watercolor drawings that look at "sketch-booky." lucas liked it, i was neutral. definitely sure that i don't like the words meat & packing to describe an area of town.
-various crappy bars that are somehow conducive to conversation-johnny's bar, doc hollywood's, blanche's(or some other name i can't recall). the last one was the best. very nice jukebox selection and some irish/british beer i like. carlsburg. yeah.
-jamaica avenue-queens, new york. lots of sneaker shopping.
-williamsburg, brooklyn-bedford avenue. music stores, cafes, thrift stores, indie kids running amok, and other diversions i plan to look into.

i just walked the dog. he's doing just fine. i must get into the shower, "Gotta go to work, gotta go to work, gotta get a job." one that pays anyway.
