citizenjane's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- normal middle class symptoms 10 january 2000 10:45:47 a.m. one week left. i have boring things to do today. -call gillian about IDS -send letter to superfrank and managerconnie about fixing apt. -shower -figure out finances (read: realize how poor i am) i'm reading the arrangement. even though elia kazan is a psuedo-leftist misogynist, the book is well written. i'm enjoying the "holden caufield-ness" of the main character. depressed male characters who talk about thier penises are suprisingly funny. this guy also admits (at least early on) that he does not want to work anymore, does not want to be married, nor does he want to be part of his household. all under the guise of "brain damage," but funny in that mid 1960's kind of way. of course, his history of cheating on his wife is presented as a normal middle-class symptom and his wife's character is sort of underdeveloped (i'm only 1/5 into the book though). well, this should amuse me for awhile. its over 500 pages. thanks for watching. make money by using the internet. 10:45:47 - 2000-01-10 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
